Expert Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine for the Greater Chicago Area

At Five Element Chicago, located in Northbrook, my mission is to move beyond paccifying symptoms and instead to focus on the root cause of your health concerns—the Causative Factor. My Five-Element diagnostic model is unique because it considers the whole person; physical and emotional well-being are inextricably linked. I believe that when we strengthen the body's innate ability to heal itself, we can resolve the symptoms while also helping the patient feel more like themselves.

Specialized Care for Life’s Most Sensitive Transitions

My background allows me to support patients from across Chicago through a vast range of unique challenges. I often work with individuals seeking relief from pain, injury, digestive troubles, migraines and allergies, but my practice also extends to deeply sensitive areas. I provide specialized care for those navigating smoking or drinking cessation, morning sickness, and even complex issues like stuttering or eye pain. I am also dedicated to providing a compassionate, stable presence for those at the end of life or those struggling with suicidal ideation.

Dr. Reiman

Dr. Reiman's Journey

Dr. Reiman was drawn to the field of medicine following a TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint) injury in 2010. His injury resulted in a unique bond with dentists, osteopaths, pharmacists, and healers who stewarded his education in ancient and modern medicine.

Since 2015 Dr. Reiman has had the honor of learning extensively from master acupuncturists (M.A.P.) Neil R. Gumenick M.Ac. (UK), Mary McCullough DACM, Eliot Ivanhoe MD, Charles Moss MD, and Ron Puhky MD; as well as Lee Zeitlin (PharmD), JR Worsley’s personal physician and pharmacist of over 30 years.

After Dr. Reiman completed his formal training at The Academy for Five Element Acupuncture in Gainesville Florida, he received a doctorate from The American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco, California where he researched the treatment of facial palsy with 5-Element acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Dr. Reiman is uniquely educated in both Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and 5-Element acupuncture.

Dr. Reiman first practiced with renowned cranial osteopath, Richard A. Feely, DO in downtown Chicago at The FeelyCenterfor Optimal Health from 2017-2022. Then, between 2018 and 2021, Dr. Reiman taught at Neil Gumenick’s internationally recognized Institute ofClassical Five-Element Acupuncture in Los Angeles California.

Dr. Reiman is now partnered with one of Chicago Magazine’s top doctors, Cathie Dunal, MD, MPH, board certified in public health and preventative medicine, and has been in practice at More Than Medicine MD in Northbrook, Illinois since 2023.

A Collaborative and Strategic Path to long-term Stability

I believe in collaborative healthcare and frequently work in tandem with MDs and other specialists to ensure my patients receive the most comprehensive care possible. My goal is not just to provide a one-time treatment but to set a new course for your physiology. Initially, I see patients weekly to encourage stability, with the ultimate goal of transitioning to seasonal "tune-ups" five times per year. This strategic frequency ensures your body maintains its newfound balance long-term.
